Outside hand wash
in Edgware

A quick, thorough hand wash — wheels, tyres, windows, door shuts and a rinse wax to seal everything in. Usually 15–20 minutes from when you arrive.

What's included

  • Full hand wash with pH-balanced shampoo
  • Wheels cleaned
  • Rinse wax for a clean, beaded finish
  • Door shuts wiped
  • Windows cleaned outside
  • Tyre shine

Why hand washing

Automated roller washes are quick, but they drag the same brushes across every car — including yours. Over time that's how light scratches and swirl marks build up. We hand wash with clean mitts and rinse them out as we go, which is much gentler on the paintwork.

When to choose Outside vs In & Out

Outside is right when the inside is fine and you just want the car looking sharp again. If the inside needs a vacuum and a wipe-down too, our In & Out service is usually the better value — same outside wash, plus an interior clean.

Pricing & time

From £7 depending on size and condition. Most cars are washed in 15–20 minutes. No appointment needed — drive in.

Common questions we hear in the workshop

Is hand washing really better than a roller car wash?+

For your paintwork, yes. Roller brushes pick up grit from every car before yours and drag it across your panels — that's where most swirl marks come from. A hand wash with clean mitts and a two-bucket method is much gentler.

How long does an outside wash take?+

Most cars are done in 15–20 minutes. Larger or particularly dirty cars take a little longer.

Does the outside wash include the wheels and tyres?+

Yes — wheels are cleaned, tyres get shine, and we wipe down the door shuts and windows. Full breakdown is on the /valeting page.

How often should I wash my car?+

For paint protection, once a fortnight is a sensible rhythm — more often in winter when road salt is around. Rinsing salt off promptly is the single best thing you can do for the bodywork.

Do you wash in the rain?+

We do — we're undercover and the car still ends up clean and dry. Plenty of regulars actually time their wash for the day after rain when there's most road dirt to remove.
